Former player charged with theft

A former Springboro High School football player has been charged with three criminal charges in Warren County juvenile court, authorities said.

The young man, 17, of Springboro is charged with felony theft and two misdemeanors, misuse of a credit card and theft, Warren County Prosecutor David Fornshell said Thursday.

He was dropped from the team after the alleged thefts in October, according to school officials.

All three charges are deliquency charges that will be handled in the juvenile court.

The charges stem from the theft and use of credit cards stolen from the locker room at CareFlight Field, the home field of the Springboro Panther football team. LAWRENCE BUDD
