Kettering residents will head to the polls in November to approve or reject a 4.89-mill renewal levy, proposed by Kettering City Schools.

The district asked voters to approve the original levy back in 2013. If approved, the levy would continue to generate approximately $6 million annually. Since the levy is a renewal, Kettering residents will not have their taxes raised because of it.

Kettering school board members voted to have the levy appear on the fall ballot during Tuesday’s regular meeting.

Before the levy in 2013, Kettering voters last approved a 4.9 mills levy in 2010.

Since 2002, Kettering residents have approved a tax levy — either new or renewal — six times. A renewal in November would mark the 7th time voters were in favor of a levy.

The election is November 7.
