Library celebrates reopening today after 2-month renovation project

BEAVERCREEK - The Beavercreek Community Library will celebrate its grand reopening on at 3 p.m. today with a ribbon cutting, a balloon artist and light refreshments.

The library, at 3618 Dayton-Xenia Road, was closed for renovations from Dec.12 to Feb. 10. The improvements were based on surveys of patrons and community members and they were funded with a $50,000 LeanOhio grant.

The renovations include a larger meeting room, a more interactive children’s area and remodeled ADA-compliant restrooms. The upgrades, aimed at providing patrons with faster, more efficient service, include an automated material handling system that will check in and sort library materials.

Beavercreek Community Library, built in 1979, is the highest circulating library in Greene County Public Library System, which also includes locations in Jamestown, Cedarville, Fairborn, Yellow Springs, Xenia and Bellbrook.
