Local teacher sex scandal makes national headlines

The story of a substitute teacher in Kettering facing sex charges involving two 11th grade students has made national headlines.

People magazine cites the Dayton Daily News in their Nov. 10 report on 23-year-old Madeline Marx, a substitute teacher who was arrested Wednesday at Kettering Fairmont High School.

A student told a school administrator about an alleged inappropriate relationship between Marx and another student, which launched the police investigation leading to Marx’s arrest.

Police said Marx admitted to sending nude photos to a student via Snapchat and Instagram.

This news organization is following another investigation involving a school staff member who was put on administrative leave following sex allegations involving a student at the North Dayton School of Discovery.

No criminal charges have been filed in that case.
