New 9-1-1 calls reveal more about search for man found dead in creek

A day before her father was found dead in Wolf Creek, Cherie Romine asked 911 dispatchers if they could find him by pinging his phone.

“Is there any way you all can track his phone number, the last call, to see what area he’s at downtown?” Cherie asked a dispatcher.

Charles Romine, 71, was found Sept. 20 at least three miles northwest of the downtown location he said he was at when he called 911 on Sept. 18.

After his call, his grandson, daughter and good friend all talked to 911 dispatchers on Sept. 19 in an effort to locate him.
