New manager named for troubled Miami Twp. mobile home park

A Cincinnati firm immediately will begin managing a troubled Miami Twp. mobile home park cited for multiple EPA violations for its water system.

All parties involved agreed in Montgomery County Common Pleas Judge Mary Wiseman’s court today that Pineview Estates — a 150-unit mobile home park on Farmersville-West Carrollton Road — will be managed by Lahni Consulting LLC.

Wiseman delayed decisions on fines for Pineview owner Timothy Dearwester.

Pineview's water system has frequently failed in the past 18 months, leaving residents without a water supply despite Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and court orders designed to ensure one.

The Ohio Attorney General's Office sought the court to appoint Lahni Consulting LLC to manage the park. It is also asked the court to fine Dearwester for his lack of action in providing a long-term solution for the water system.

The state contends Dearwester has ignored Ohio EPA directives for more than a year, leading to an AG’s office lawsuit, and a judge granting the state access to fix the water system after a significant failure in late April before finding Dearwester in contempt of court.

Court documents filed by AG’s office said Dearwester has “demonstrated a well-established pattern of ignoring Ohio EPA’s and this court’s orders, and of refusing to correct the problems in the Pineview MHP water system.”
