New restaurant now open in Cornerstone of Centerville

Panda Express has opened its first Dayton-area restaurant in the Cornerstone of Centerville development.

The Asian restaurant seats 56 inside and employs 20 to 25, and is open daily for lunch and dinner, a spokesperson for the Rosemead, California-based Panda Express told this news outlet today. It also offers patio seating.

Panda Express becomes the third restaurant chain to choose the Cornerstone development near I-675 and Wilmington Pike to make their Dayton-area debut, following Bagger Dave’s Burger Tavern and Cheddars Scratch Kitchen. Across the street from the development, Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers opened its first Dayton-area location last week, and another chain new to the area, MOD Pizza, has restaurants in the works in Cornerstone and in Englewood.

Two of the development’s three anchor stores — Costco Wholesale and Cabela’s — also made their Dayton-area debut in Cornerstone.

“We’ve been fortunate to have a number of new-to-market concepts put their roots down at Cornerstone of Centerville,” Danielle Kuehnle of Oberer Realty Services said. “We attribute these restaurants and retailers making that crucial initial market entry decision based on our location within the local and regional market place and the success of the project to date.”

Panda Express operates more than 1,900 restaurants around the world, including three in northern Cincinnati. Its new Cornerstone of Centerville location is a 2,593 square foot free-standing restaurant. It opened its doors Thursday.
