Officers in pursuit of stolen vehicle

SPRINGFIELD — Law enforcement officials were in pursuit of a reported stolen vehicle heading south out of Springfield and west toward Huber Heights around 5 p.m. Sunday. The vehicle, reported stolen from Greene County, had been identified as possibly involved in a vehicle break-in at Meijer on Hillcrest Avenue.

Springfield Police began following the vehicle, a black Chevy S10 pickup truck with Corvette rims, around 4 p.m. after it was spotted on Hillcrest Avenue. Clark County Sheriff's office vehicles were alerted as the pursuit headed south out of the city and toward Enon.

At 5 p.m. Ohio State Highway Patrol officials took over the pursuit as the vehicle entered Montgomery County. The vehicle had yet to be stopped at 5 p.m. and was reported to have turned east, heading back toward Springfield on Route 40.
