Ohio Air National Guard fighter jets will be involved in night training exercises this week that could bring F-16s into southwest Ohio, according to the unit.

The Toledo-based 180th Fighter Wing will fly the night training missions between Tuesday and Thursday, taking off and landing until about 9 p.m., the unit said.

The unit has trained in the Dayton and Springfield region and the Brush Creek-Buckeye military training range in southern Ohio in the past.

“There’s a good possibility we’ll be down there,” Senior Master Sgt. Beth Holliker, a wing spokeswoman, said Tuesday.

Depending on weather conditions, the jets may fly at night in either Ohio or Michigan during the week, she added.
