Alcohol believed factor in crash that killed Middletown woman

UPDATE @ 6:20 p.m.

A Middletown woman was killed in the single-vehicle crash Saturday on Union Road.

Carolyn Robinson, 57, died from her injuries at Atrium Medical Center in Middletown, according to a release from Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Robinson was not wearing a safety belt and alcohol is believed to be a factor, according to the investigation.

Robinson was driving a 2004 Hyundai Elantra north on Union Road when she reportedly travled off the right side of the road, according to officials.

The preliminary investigation reveals the driver then crossed the left side of the roadway and struck two trees.

The crash remains under investigation.

UPDATE @ 5:50 p.m.

A female driver has died after being involved in a single-vehicle crash on North Union Road today, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

It’s unclear what led to the crash, but troopers said the white car was headed north on North Union when it went out of control and struck a tree head-on.

The driver was rushed to Atrium Medical Center from the crash but she succumbed to her injuries, according to the patrol.

The victim’s identity has not been released.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is on scene of a serious single-vehicle crash in the 5000 block of North Union Road in Franklin Twp.

Emergency personnel responded around 2 p.m. to the crash.

It appears a white car went off the road and struck a tree, causing heavy damages.

An occupant of the vehicle was taken to Atrium Medical Center.
