Otterbein plans to move entrance near Union Village

Otterbein Senior Lifestyle Choices plans to move the main entrance to its main retirement campus in Warren County, across Ohio 741 from the proposed entrance to the Union Village development.

Earlier this month, the Warren County Board of Commissioners approved a 1-percent lodgings tax hike for the Warren County Sports Park at Union Village.

This $15 million sports complex is envisioned as the anchor for the 1,400-acre Union Village development on land owned by Otterbein along Ohio 741 and Greentree Road, including the retirement campus.

On Thursday, the Warren County Regional Planning Commission is scheduled to consider Otterbein’s plan to remove the Circle Drive access point from Ohio 741.

The plan calls for King Street, on the north end of the existing campus, to become the main entrance from Ohio 741 to the campus center and the northern portion of the Otterbein campus.

King Street will be extended south to Circle Drive. Another interior street in the campus, Cogan Street, will be modified to relocate parking.

The parking lots adjacent to the Campus Center will also be reconfigured. A new covered entrance will be extended from the campus center. No other structures will be added as a part of the plan.
