Power restored to most after severed electrical line causes outages

Power has been restored to most of Miamisburg after a severed power line knocked out power to nearly 400 people Wednesday morning.

At 2:10 p.m., and online DP&L outage map reports only 10 outages in Montgomery County.

Electric service is beginning to return to many in Miamisburg after a severed electric line caught fire and knocked out service to nearly 400 DP&L customers in Wednesday.

Neighbors reported the downed line and fire around 8 a.m. Wednesday on Sixth Street, between Ohio 725 and Maple Avenue.

All repair work was completed around 11 a.m. and neighbors told our crew they started to see electric service restored around 11:15 a.m.

At 11:35 a.m., a DP&L outage map still reported 400 outages in Montgomery County.

Nearly 400 customers are without power in Miamisburg after a power line severed from a pole on Sixth Street Wednesday morning.

Firefighters have blocked Sixth Street between Ohio 725 and Maple Avenue while DP&L crews work to make repairs.

Additional details were not immediately available.
