Property values: Miami Twp., Miamisburg show healthy jumps

Miami Twp. and Miamisburg were both among Montgomery County communities with the highest overall valuations, records show.

Miami Twp. had the fifth highest total market value of $88,469,510, followed by Miamisburg at $85,727,970. Both jurisdictions showed healthy bumps in residential land values compared to 2014, the last time valuations were completed by the county auditor’s office.

The city saw a 10.7 percent jump while the township’s home values increased 8 percent.

“We are pleased that it appears our residential neighborhoods are bouncing back nicely from the real-estate market crash associated with the recession,” Miamisburg Development Director Chris Fine said in an email. “That speaks to the quality of our neighborhoods, our housing stock, and our quality school district.

“We are confident our neighborhoods will only become more attractive places to live as the city continues to invest in the services and amenities we offer our citizens,” he added.
