Randolph County, Ind. man killed in motorcycle crash Friday

A 33-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Randolph County, Ind. early Friday morning.

Deputies and fire crews from Parker City were initially dispatched to a reported single-vehicle motorcycle crash on County Road 550 north, near County Road 1200 west around 5:40 a.m. Friday.

An initial investigation found the operator, identified as Joseph R. Hottinger, 33, of Parker City, Ind., lost control and crashed into a ditch while traveling west on County Road 550 north, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office said in a media release.

Hottinger was pronounced dead at the scene by the Randolph County Coroner’s Office.

Investigators said Hottinger was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Additional details, including other potential factors in the crash were not released.
