Reid Hospital to build facility in Darke Co.

Reid Hospital announced Wednesday that it has purchased approximately 11 acres in Greenville, Darke County, to build a new home for Bethel Cardiology of Greenville and allow the expansion of medical services and partnerships with local physicians and Wayne HealthCare.

The property is on Katzenberger Road near Family Health Services of Darke County.

Construction plans are not finalized.

“Our current facilities in Greenville are not large enough for us to adequately provide all the services that could compliment what’s already provided by Wayne HealthCare, and Family Health Services of Darke County,” said Reid President/CEO Craig Kinyon.

“We are excited to be able to plan a facility with them that will allow expanded services and partnerships to meet the health care needs of the Darke County community,” said Kinyon, who noted that Reid has worked closely with Greenville’s hospital officials in the planning to build a facility in Greenville.

Wayne Deschambeau, Wayne HealthCare President/CEO, said, “Reid Hospital has provided continuing medical education to the medical staff at Wayne HealthCare for a number of years.

“We have had discussions with Reid’s medical staff for the past several years, concerning needs in the medical specialties of neurology and vascular surgery not being adequately supported in Greenville,” Deschambeau said.

“Both Wayne HealthCare and Family Health look forward to the development of psychiatric services. Darke County has been without full-time psychiatric services for the past four or five years,” he said.
