Report: Officer wades through frigid water to rescue man, dog

An unidentified Richmond police officer waded through frigid water to rescue a man and dog who became stuck in a pond on New Paris Pike, according to a report from our news partners at Kicks 96.

According to the report, around 9 p.m. Tuesday a man waded into a pond to try and rescue a dog that had wandered onto the ice, when he got stuck in silt.

The officer responded to the scene and was able to help the man and dog get out of the water, the report said.

Initial reports indicated the man was in the water for about 15 minutes before he was rescued.

The officer, man and dog were all OK Wednesday morning, Kicks 96 reported.
