Riverside police escapee sentenced on federal gun charge

A 32-year-old Dayton man who escaped Riverside police custody last spring will spend nearly 6½ years in prison on a federal weapons conviction.

David A. McComb Jr. was sentenced today to 77 months in prison for possessing a firearm after a previous felony conviction. He pleaded guilty Nov. 10, 2016, in U.S. District Court to the federal charge.

McComb was arrested April 6, 2016, in Dayton three days after escaping from the Riverside police station after he was questioned in a domestic violence case. At the time of his arrest, he was carrying a pistol.

He was sentenced to 18 months in prison for the escape offense through Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.
