Three days before they are inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a legendary arena rock band will rock the pants off of Daytonians at Wright State University's Nutter Center, 3640 Colonel Glenn Highway in Fairborn.

Journey, the band that brought the world "Don't Stop Believin" and a boatload of other songs we don't want to get out of our heads, will perform at the Nutter Center April 4 with Asia.

Nile Rodgers from Chic will be given the Award For Musical Excellence.

It was the first time Journey was on the ballot for nominees.

"I kind of feel like we were already in with our fans and the amount of records we've sold all over the world," Journey guitarist Neal Schon told Rolling Stone.

Arnel Pineda has served as Journey's lead singer since 2007.

HOW ABOUT THAT REUNION WITH PERRY?

Schon, a Journey founding member, last performed on stage with the most well-known Journey lead singer Steve Perry in 1991.

He told Rolling Stone he still has love for Perry when asked about hearing Perry sing two years ago with the Eels.

"I saw the clip. I thought he sounded fine too. I was just like, 'OK, his voice has dropped a bit, but whose hasn't?' So yeah, I'll keep my fingers crossed. We all love Steve. We had a great relationship for so many years. I don't know why there's been an absence of it for so many years besides the fact that we just moved on because we wanted to, we had to. We needed to get out there and keep playing for our fans. I'd think everyone would be grateful at this point because we've done so well."

Journey also includes original member and bass player Ross Valory and longtime member Jonathan Cain, a keyboardist.

Schon told ultimateclassicrock.com that he was open to a reunion with Perry.

“I’d love to have him do a song with us –- or two, or whatever. What would be even greater would be for him to do a song with Arnel too. I’m open to everything. I’m very open-minded to whatever happens, and any ideas that are brought forth,” he told the website.
