All southbound lanes of Interstate 75 in West Carrollton were shut down for around an hour Thursday morning following a three-vehicle crash. Shortly after the crash in the southbound lanes, a crash in the northbound lanes in the same area backed up traffic for miles into the early afternoon.
The first crash was reported in the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 at the Dixie Drive ramp around 9:40 a.m. between three vehicles, two tractor trailers and a pickup truck, according to officials.
The southbound lanes of Interstate 75 were shut down at the crash scene after at least one of the vehicles leaked fluids into the roadway.
No injuries were reported in the crash and the highway was able to reopen around 10:45 a.m.
While the crash on southbound was being cleaned up, a crash in the northbound lanes occurred between a box truck and a car around 10:15 a.m.
Medics responded to the crash but it was not known how severe the injuries were. The crash blocked the left and right lanes of northbound Interstate 75, but all lanes were allowed to reopen around noon.
Additional details were not available.
