Truck driver jumps out of semi on I-75 South in Moraine minutes before it catches fire

UPDATE @ 1:07 a.m.:

Moraine police have confirmed that all lanes of I-75 south have reopened.

UPDATE @ 10:50 p.m.:

The truck driver was able to jump out of the semi with no injuries, according to a Moraine fire official.

The driver said he heard a pop, pulled over and jumped out of the semi within two minutes before it engulfed in flames.

The semi was hauling Ford interior auto parts that were picked up in Dayton.

According to our crew on scene, the fire is out but officials still need to get inside the trailer to make sure there’s no extension.

The left lane is now open.

FIRST REPORT:

There is currently a semi fire on I-75 south, across from Heidelberg Distributing Company.

All three lanes of the highway are closed.
