Customers were notified in advance of this outage with a phone call, DP&L said in a tweet around 4 p.m. Thursday. Power was scheduled to be out starting at midnight through 4 a.m.

We are working to find out from DP&L why this maintenance was needed, and whether it could have been postponed until temperatures were higher.
