Power restored to thousands in Huber Heights after car splits utility pole

Power has been restored to thousands of homes that experienced outages Sunday morning after a crash in Huber Heights.

All but 10 homes in Montgomery County have power, according to a DP&L outage map.

Reports indicate a driver was taken to Grandview Medical Center with unknown injuries.

Dispatchers said only one vehicle was involved in the crash and police have since left the area.

Power has been restored to traffic lights on Old Troy Pike between Fishburg and Needmore Roads in Huber Heights.

Over 1,600 homes remain without power in Montgomery County, according to a DP&L outage map.

Nearly 3,000 homes lost power when a car split a pole at the intersection of Powell and Endicott roads, according to DP&L.

Multiple power outages have been reported after a car crashed into a power pole on Powell Road in Huber Heights, according to dispatchers.

Dispatchers said multiple homes have lost power and stop lights on Old Troy Pike between Fishburg and Needmore roads are not operating.

Huber Heights police and a DP&L crew are at the scene of the crash near the intersection of Powell and Endicott Roads.

Nearly 3,000 homes in the Miami Valley are without power, according to a DP&L outage map,

Around 5:46 a.m. a main line circuit lost power after the car crashed into the power pole, splitting it in two, according to DP&L Director of Operations Kelly Millhouse.

Millhouse said an unknown number of homes will be without power until the pole is replaced later today.

Initial reports indicate an ambulance has taken the injured driver from the scene.
