Jury selection began this morning in Greene County Judge Stephen Wolaver's courtroom.

The 12-year-old female victim, who was known to the defendant, reported to Fairborn police in December 2016 that she had been spending time with Lacey since her father had died, according to the detective's statement of facts on file with the court.

The victim told police she was staying at Lacey's home on Redbank Drive when one day he allegedly made her smoke marijuana and engage in sexual conduct with him.

Police monitored a "control call" in which the victim told Lacey in a telephone conversation that she was thinking of telling her school counselor what happened, according to the statement of facts. Lacey advised her in the phone call not to talk about it, and that he "was high" and didn't mean for it to happen, according to the statement of facts.
