Pickup truck crashes into, damages Fairborn Bob Evans

UPDATE @ 3:45 a.m.

Fairborn police said alcohol is being investigated as a possible factor after a pickup truck crashed into the front of the Bob Evans restaurant Friday morning.

Officers said the crash knocked down a pillar holding up an awning at the front entrance to the restaurant.

The driver was not injured, but was taken into custody. Police said charges are pending and the crash is officially under investigation, but alcohol is believed to be a factor.

Officers said it was unknown if the restaurant will be open for business on Friday.

FIRST REPORT

A vehicle has reportedly crashed into the front of a Bob Evans restaurant on Colonel Glenn Highway in Fairborn Friday morning.

Police reported the crash around 1:45 a.m. at the restaurant located at 2648 Colonel Gleen Highway.

The occupant of the vehicle did not suffer any injuries, according to police scanner traffic.

Fire crews have been dispatched to check the stability of the structure, initial reports indicate.
