UPDATE@5:42 a.m.: Police reopened North Main Street after clearing the scene where the vehicle rammed an RTA pole. Conditions of the two victims are unknown.
UPDATE @ 11:10 p.m.: The driver and passenger of a vehicle that rammed an RTA police on North Main Street at Shadyside Drive have been taken to Miami Valley Hospital.
Dayton firefighter/paramedics describe the passenger's injuries as critical and note the passenger may have been overdosing when they rescued him.
They said the driver, also male, was lucid. There are no word on his condition but he expected to survive, firefighters said.
Police tell us that speed may have been a factor in the accident.
Traffic on North Main continues to be shut down in both directions, but police anticipate reopening North Main Street by midnight.
A medic unit is on the scene where a vehicle is wrapped around an RTA pole in the area of North Main Street and West Shadyside Drive.
We're working to determine how many people have been injured in the accident, which was dispatched about 10:35 p.m.
Dayton fire and medic crews and police are on scene.
Traffic on North Main has been shut down in both directions.
