Cat missing after Jeep crashes into Miami Twp. condo

UPDATE @ 11:20 p.m.

A Jeep lost control for an unknown reason and crashed into a condo early this evening at Springhaven Condominiums off Ferndown Drive in Miami Twp.

“It’s significant damage to the structure,” Steve Meadows, battalion chief of the Miami Valley Fire District said.

The driver of the Jeep possibly suffered a medical condition, but the cause of the crash is still under investigation, Meadows said.

The owners were not home, but they have two pets, a dog and cat. Crews secured the dog, but have not been able to find their cat.

“Right now we’re concerned about securing the structure ... finding the cat ... making sure the folks that live here have a place to stay,” he said. Damage appears to be limited to the one unit, Meadows said.
