Water system remains out for Miami Twp. mobile home park

Repairs continue in an effort to restore a Miami Twp. mobile home park's water system that has been cited for EPA violations and prompted a court to strip the owner of day-to-day responsibilities.

Water service remained out Tuesday at Pineview Estates, which is under court-ordered receivership following a January lawsuit by the Ohio Attorney General's Office after owner Timothy Dearwester failed to comply with state mandates.

Residents have been without running water at the Farmersville-West Carrollton Road mobile home park since about 6 p.m. Monday when the utility’s electrical system failed, officials said.

The Montgomery County Emergency Management Agency delivered a bulk water tank Tuesday for non-potable uses and bottled water was delivered, according to the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.

Once water service is restored, Pineview will be on a precautionary boil advisory until sample results are returned, according to the OEPA.

Montgomery County Common Pleas Judge Mary Wiseman in June appointed a receiver to oversee day-to-day operations after Dearwester failed to comply with court orders to meet OEPA guidelines.

The Ohio AG's office filed suit against Pineview and Dearwester after officials said the owner failed for nearly a year to comply with Ohio EPA mandates and orders – or pay any fines levied against it – to repair its water system.

Pineview has a history of OEPA violations dating back to 2009, with multiple citations since December of 2014, records show.
