Waynesville man charged for child pornography

A Warren County man, arrested by the Warren County SWAT team at Caesar Creek State Park in October, has been indicted for possession of child pornography, pandering obscenity and inducing panic, according to authorities.

Parts of Caesar Creek State Park were closed until Scott Arnold, 48, of Waynesville was arrested on Oct. 11 in woods near a boat dock off Oregonia Road with a shotgun and a bottle of liquor, according to Sgt. Brandon Lacy of the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. He was found at the park by the SWAT team and a Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office helicopter.

A grand jury issued an indictment charging Arnold with 30 counts of illegal use of a minor in a nudity-oriented material, pandering obscenity involving a minor, inducing panic and using weapons while intoxicated.

Arnold is accused of possessing numerous files with young children engaged in sexual acts, said Warren County Prosecutor David Fornshell. Most of the photos involved children who appeared to be between the ages of 6 and 8 years old and some appeared to be as young as one, Fornshell said.

Arnold, who worked for a landscaping company in Greene County, fled to the park after being confronted at work about alleged child pornography found by a co-worker in materials left in a pick-up truck, Warren County Prosecutor David Fornshell said.

Authorities searched for Arnold for several hours. No one was injured, although a shot was fired, according to reports.

“There was a shot fired. We think it was just a shot up into the air,” Lacy said.

He is currently being held at the Warren County Jail on $100,000 bond. A court date has not been set.
