Woman found in Springboro creek identified

A woman’s body was discovered Saturday evening in a Springboro creek in the area of Factory Road and Carey Drive.

The Warren County Coroner’s Office identified the woman as Paula Scott, 46, of Springboro.

Springboro Police Chief Jeff Kruithoff said a pedestrian came across Scott’s body in the creek at about 7:30 p.m. He said at the scene there were no outward signs of foul play.

The Warren County Coroner’s Office found the death was accidental, and the result of Scott hitting her head while falling into the creek.

It is unclear how long Scott’s body had been in the creek, which is called Pleasant Valley Run. Kruithoff said the deepest area of the small body of water is knee-level.

“There’s a lot of rocks down in the area of the creek where she was found,” Kruithoff said.
