Woman takes shooting victim to police substation, begs for help

News Center 7’s Caroline Reinwald was outside a police station tonight working on another report when a woman pulled up with a shooting victim in her car.

The woman arrived just before 9 p.m. at the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office substation, 5945 N. Dixie Drive in Harrison Twp. She banged on the door screaming for help before picking up a phone attached to the building. Deputies came out and medics responded immediately.

The shooting victim, described as a heavy-set man, was shot in the leg and was taken to Grandview Medical Center in Dayton. His name and condition were not released, but he was not cooperating with deputies, according to the sheriff’s office.

The gunshot victim was believed to have been shot in the nearby Northland Village Apartments, where deputies are on scene searching for possible evidence.

Outside the substation, deputies put up yellow tape to block off the parking lot.

Medics were called for a shooting victim tonight who was brought to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office substation in Harrison Twp.

A woman driver pulled up to the station at the Harrison Twp. Government Center, 5945 N. Dixie Drive, and banged on the door. She used the exterior phone to reach someone inside, according to News Center 7 crews at the scene.

A man was shot in the leg, and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

It’s not clear how severe the man’s injuries are, nor where he was shot.
