Wright Memorial Public Library set to host volunteer fair

Eight local non-profit organizations will be on hand to share their needs and answer question at a volunteer fair hosted by Wright Memorial Public Library on June 3.

The fair will go from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will be held on the Library's front lawn at 1776 Far Hills Ave. in Oakwood. The event is designed for adults, teens and families to discover volunteer opportunities in the area.

The organizations planning to attend the fair are Dayton Art Institute, Habitat for Humanity Restore, Luv4K9s Dog Rescue, Ohio's Hospice of Dayton, Oakwood Historical Society, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Dayton History and Clothes that Work.

Activities for Children will be held on the back lawn of the Library and Dorothy Lane Market will be inside the Library to construct a can display that will be donated to Food Bank Dayton at the end of the summer.

The volunteer fair is part of Wright Library's Build a Better World Summer Reading Club kickoff. All summer long supporters 18 and over can enter their volunteer hours in Wright Library's Better World Club challenge. Restaurant and entertainment giveaways will be given out based on those hours and you can also enter into a drawing for a prize basket full of snacks and movies at the end of the summer.
