Man pleads guilty to role in babysitter’s shooting death

UPDATE @ 11:30 A.M.: 

Cassell pleaded guilty to complicity to commit murder with a three-year firearm specification with all other counts dismissed. His trial was scheduled to start Oct. 31.

The conviction carries a mandatory sentence of 18 years to life. Cassell will be sentenced Nov. 14.

EARLIER REPORT

Evans Cassell, one of three co-defendants, in the shooting death of Taylor Brandenburg, a 20-year-old babysitter, has pleaded guilty.

Cassell faced charges including complicity to commit murder, tampering with evidence and weapons under disability in the death earlier this year.

Chuckie Lee, 38, and Kara Parisi‐King, 26, of Dayton, also face charges in the case.
