Miami Twp. has approved spending more than $500,000 to beef up security and renovate its police department and administration building.
Township trustees on Tuesday adopted a measure calling for Acting Administrator Ron Hess to enter into an agreement with Becker Construction to upgrade facilities on Lyons Road.
Becker will be paid up to $545,523 to remodel and renovate the police department, the lobby of the administration building and its second floor meeting room, said Capt. Russell Johnson.
The project received two bids, with Becker’s base bid of $474,368. Bilbrey Construction’s base bid was $525,586, records show.
The timeline for project should be finalized in January, Johnson said. The work is expected to take about six months.
