Moraine hiring firm to search for longtime city manager’s replacement

The hiring of a firm to begin the search for a successor to longtime Moraine City Manager David Hicks is expected to be approved tonight.

The Moraine City Council is seeking to contract with a Cincinnati consultant to help find a replacement for Hicks, who is retiring in March.

The city is proposing to pay the Novak Consulting Group $22,900 for an “executive recruitment” search, city records show.

The firm specializes in local government consulting and executive search services in the Midwest, city records show.

Hicks became city manager in 2001 after serving as acting city manager, police chief, detective and police officer in career that began in the mid-1970s.

Moraine City Council is set to meet at 6 p.m. in the Moraine Municipal Building, 4200 Dryden Road.
