2 more Dayton-area cities approve medical marijuana bans

Two more area cities have approved bans on medical marijuana.

Moraine and West Carrollton have both approved measures to prohibit the cultivation, processing and retail dispensing of the drug that became legal for medical purposes in Ohio last year.

Both city’s councils passed similar legislation last week, joining a number of communities in the Dayton area that have taken stands involving marijuana.

Moraine and West Carrollton join Butler Twp., Miamisburg, Oakwood and Springboro as communities approving measures to ban medical marijuana.

Other communities – Riverside, German Twp., Dayton, Yellow Springs, Mad River Twp., Monroe and Carlisle, among them - have allowed proposals for cultivation sites to move forward.
