Hallock said the dolls were taken as evidence as investigators work to determine who left the dolls and why.

“Is it a prank? Is there some specific motivation?” Hallock said. “Obviously, there’s an indication by some the parents that the dolls resemble their daughters.”

Hallock said there is no obvious criminal act behind the dolls, but investigators are concerned.

“Anything that has the potential to involve children causes us some concern.”
