2 dozen French bulldogs need a home, up for adoption Sat. after rescue in Denver

A Colorado animal shelter is offering up more than two dozen French bulldogs for adoption this weekend after a recent animal rescue in Denver.

The Denver Animal Shelter can't answer many questions about the dogs, which were removed from a home after a special investigation, because the case is still pending, according to a post on the agency's Facebook page. But shelter officials did say the dogs were removed from "a hoarding situation."

“Many of the animals were in dire need of proper medical care, and shelter staff members have worked very hard to heal these animals inside and out,” agency officials said.

A total of 35 dogs were given to the shelter, including several other breeds, like bulldogs and pugs, according to KUSA. Three of the dogs had to be euthanized and another three were given to a different shelter.

The shelter plans to offer up 25 French bulldogs for adoption on Saturday.
