Video: Firefighters try to blast drone out of the sky with hose


A hobby drone pilot got an unpleasant surprise when he attempted to video firefighters putting out a fire in upstate New York.

John Thompson posted on his YouTube channel that he was attempting to video a house fire in Montgomery, New York, when firefighters noticed the drone flying overhead.

He wrote about the incident on in a Facebook post that the fire company tried to "hose" his $2,220 drone out of the sky:

"Stopped at a structure fire in Coldenham fire district and 13 min in to shooting the video the fire company tryed to blow my drone out of the sky with the fire hose for filming the fire this is real miss conduct on there part and verry unprofessional on there part, My second take off the camera did not record so it look's like they destroyed a $2,200.00 drone thank's guy's for the nice job thank's guy's for the nice job your doing for the community.I have you all on video so if i have to get it payed for look for the bill thank you and if you all agree with me please comment the new's was there filming why not me !!!"

The nearly 14 minute video that was  posted to both Facebook and YouTube received mixed comments with some saying he shouldn't have been interferring with firefighters.
