Multiple messages left with Starbucks representatives since Monday have not been returned. Some retailers, including Starbucks, are often reluctant to discuss details of new stores in the works until after zoning, building and other permit issues are resolved, and the local governing jurisdiction has green-lighted the project.

The Washington Twp. Zoning Commission is scheduled to review Starbucks’ renovation plans at its Feb. 21 meeting, according to Ryan Lee, zoning manager for Washington Twp. Final approval of the project is subject to review by Washington Twp. trustees, Lee said.
According to this Seattle Times report, Starbucks is planning to build several new high-end "Reserve Roastery" stores nationwide that will focus more on a lunch menu and may offer wine and beer. There's no word on whether the relatively spacious new Washington Twp. location could evolve into one of Starbucks' "Reserve Roastery" concept locations. Starbucks has been actively expanding in suburban Dayton: it is building a new coffee shop across from The Greene Town Center in Beavercreek, and another near Meijer in Englewood. And earlier this month, officials with Oberer Realty Services announced that a new 2,774-square-foot coffee shop will be located in the Shoppes at Valle Greene on East Dayton-Yellow Springs Road in Fairborn, perhaps opening by late summer or early fall.

The Seattle-based chain operates more than two dozen locations, some free-standing and some inside other businesses, in the Dayton and northern Cincinnati area.
