A chilly start for the new week

MIAMI VALLEY —

Monday will get off to a chilly start, according to Storm Center 7 Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs.

Temperatures will start out around 30 with mostly cloudy skies. She said that clouds will break Monday afternoon for some sunshine. That will bring temperatures into the mid-40s.

Vrydaghs said that a disturbance will approach Monday evening, and skies will gradually cloud back up. That will bring a chance of snow overnight. She added that the greatest chance of snow will be in the southern counties. But she did not rule out some snow showers in spots around the Miami Valley. No accumulation is expected.

Vrydaghs said that any snow will taper off by early Tuesday morning, giving way to mostly sunny skies.

She said the disturbance will affect temperatures, with highs struggling to reach the upper 30s to near 40 Tuesday.

She added that afternoon highs will gradually increase by a few degrees everyday through Friday, eventually reaching into the upper 40s.

Vrydaghs said conditions will remain dry after Monday night through Friday, with a chance of showers arriving by Saturday.
