DAYTON —

Police believe a car that was left Tuesday night to burn on James H. McGee Boulevard was previously involved in a police pursuit.

Dayton officers found the dark-colored sedan had been driven up on a curb and engulfed in flames on McGee near McCall Street at approximately 10:30 p.m.

There was no sign of the driver. The officer on scene said he recognized the vehicle as one that was pursued by police in a prior incident.

It was not immediately clear whether the vehicle was stolen or if it was purposely set on fire.
