RIVERSIDE —

Two people were taken to Miami Valley Hospital on Thursday afternoon after a rear-end collision on Woodman Drive.

According to Riverside police, the driver of a red car that rear-ended a blue sports coupe in the southbound lanes will be cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance.

The injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, according to police at the scene.

Police and multiple rescue units were dispatched to southbound Woodman Drive, near U.S. 35, at about 5:40 p.m.

Southbound traffic on Woodman was shut down for a time because of the accident investigation.

One lane of northbound traffic was blocked by rescue equipment.
