3 calls to 911 in one day land woman in jail

DAYTON —

A woman is accused of calling 911 three times in one day to report non-emergencies such as having no minutes on her phone card and unwanted junk mail.

Pamela Reynolds, 54, was arrested about 2:50 p.m. Tuesday after police responded to her Rockwood Avenue residence for the third time in less than six hours.

According to a Dayton Police incident report, she first called at 9:40 a.m. for an unknown reason and responding officers told her not to call again.

She called again at 12:45 p.m. and reported an issue with her phone card. Officers responded to her address and she began telling them that some woman put her in the hospital, according to the report. Officers once again told her not to call 911 for non-emergency situations to which she replied, “I bet I do.”

At 2:30 p.m. she called again and told dispatchers it was a “life and death situation.” When the dispatcher asked her for more information she said, “Mind your own business you aren’t a lawyer,” according to the report.

When officers arrived she picked up a stack of mail and said she wanted her mailman arrested because she considered a flier for life insurance a death threat.

She was sternly told to not call 911 again and once again replied “I bet I do,” so officers arrested her.

She’s facing a misdemeanor charge of making false alarms.
