A family had to hit the floor as someone shot into their apartment Wednesday evening, according to a police report.

A woman reported hearing shots outside as she and her children were watching TV in their apartment in the Hilltop Homes complex, 2900 block of Wexford Place, Wednesday evening.

Suddenly the front window of the apartment was shattered by several bullets. The woman got her kids on the ground and called 911.

According to a Dayton Police report, the woman said she heard a total of four or five shots.

Two bullets went through window and entered a living room closet door. Police discovered that several other shots hit the outside of the brick apartment building.

No one was hurt during the shooting.
