CELINA —

Intense flames and smoke prevented firefighters from saving a man living inside a mobile home on Bunker Hill Road late Tuesday night, according to firefighters.

The identity of the victim has not been released and is not expected to be released until sometime Wednesday.

Firefighters responded to the mobile home in the 3600 block of Bunker Hill around 8 p.m. Tuesday. When crews arrived to the home heavy flames were visible from both the front and back of the residence, Celina Fire Chief Doug Wolters said.

Initial reports from neighbors indicated the mobile home may be occupied, Wolters said.

“You want to try to figure out where the person possibly could be in the residence, and try to go there first,” Wolters said. “They did search, he wasn’t there, so then the rest of the trailer was on fire, so they couldn’t go back to that area until they knocked the fire down.”

After putting out the fire, firefighters discovered the man deceased inside the residence, Wolters said.

The state fire marshal was called to the scene to investigate the fire.

Firefighters have not determined what may have sparked the fatal fire.

The blaze remains under investigation.
