TROY —

Troy fire crews responded to flames coming from an empty apartment building early this morning.

The structure on Foss Way was the same apartment building that was ruled an arson scene back in May, when an early morning fire sent seven victims to the hospital and caused more the $250,000 dollars of damage to the building.

Sunday around 5:30 a.m. firefighters were dispatched to the building on reports of a structure fire and found heavy smoke pouring from the building when they arrived.

There are no reports of injuries and no one was known to be living in the building.

Casstown Fire was called to the scene for mutual aid.

The structure was torn down Sunday morning just around 9:30 a.m. It had been scheduled to be demolished sometime after the May blaze.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined but is considered suspicious.
