DAYTON —
A Dayton mother and grandmother is in jail Monday, accused of hitting her 14-year-old daughter in the head Sunday while allegedly intoxicated
Lucinda Blythe, 49, is facing misdemeanor charges of endangering children and domestic violence and is being held in lieu of $12,500 bond.
According to a Dayton Police report, Blythe’s 28-year-old daughter called 911 at about 4 p.m. Sunday to report that her mother was beating up her 14-year-old sister.
Police responded to the family’s DeWitt Drive apartment and interviewed the victim. She said her mom was drunk and pulled her hair and hit her in the head numerous times, according to the report.
She was treated at Dayton Children’s Medical Center and placed in the custody of her father.
Police went to talk to Blythe and noted in the report that she appeared to be intoxicated.
She said all she did was pull the girl’s hair, according to the report.
Blythe allegedly became aggressive towards officers and was placed in the back of a cruiser where she reportedly spit on the floor and urinated on herself.
The apartment was very dirty and smelled of urine, according to the report. There were groceries thrown all over the place and lots of empty alcohol containers, police said.
A neighbor told police there are seven people who live in the apartment — Blythe, her three daughters ages 9, 14 and 28, two grandchildren and another adult female. It was unclear from the report if the 9-year-old or other children would be removed from the home.
