More than a dozen bullets fired into vehicles

DAYTON —

Police are looking for a man who may have used an assault rifle to pepper his ex-girlfriend’s car with bullets Monday night.

Several neighbors on Reading Road called police at about 10:30 p.m. to report hearing dozens of shots being fired.

According to a Dayton Police report, some people identified the shooter as an ex-boyfriend of a woman who lives on the street.

She said she’s been having issues with a man who already has several active warrants for his arrest, according to the report.

Her car had a least 10 bullet holes, while another van on the street was hit at least three times.

Police found 20 rifle shell casings in the street and said the damage could have been done with an assault rifle, according to the report.
