DAYTON —

Two men were arrested early Thursday morning when they were caught attempting to steal copper pipes from inside a vacant house in the 600 block of Daniel Street.

Police got a call that there was a break-in in progress and arrived to find two sets of footprints in the snow going into the house, according to an incident report.

They heard noises in the basement and called down that it was the police to which a man called up, ā€œI’m coming up,ā€ and then surrendered, according to the report.

He told police no one else was with him, but police found second man hiding in a bathroom.

Dylan Hicks, 20, and Dylan Ball, 20, face possible charges of breaking and entering and possession of criminal tools.
