Police: pills discovered in woman’s crotch

DAYTON —

A corrections officer found and removed a bag containing 10 Vicodin pills from a woman’s crotch as she was being booked into the Montgomery County Jail on Monday night.

Brittney N. Martin, 23, was arrested at a Xenia Avenue apartment on suspicion of drug-related charges. The pills, prescribed to relieve moderate to severe pain, were discovered when she was searched at the jail.

According to a Dayton police report, Martin was booked on a felony charge of illegal conveyance of drugs into a detention facility and single misdemeanor counts of drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said they went to the apartment looking for a man. He wasn’t at the apartment when police arrived, but they found Martin in a back bedroom. She was arrested after a crack pipe was found in a pocket of her clothing, according to the report.

Police had suspected that drugs were being sold from the apartment. In a closet, officers found a purse containing several caps of heroin, used heroin needles and a crack pipe. There was no ID in the purse.

On Tuesday afternoon, she was being detained in the jail on the misdemeanor charge. The felony was cleared by a detective, but police said the investigation continues.
